Overview: The
couple describe experiencing a "rotting smell"
intermittently coming from their living room. It
started the first day when they moved a while ago,
when they noticed a foul rotting smell coming from
the living room. They contacted their real estate
agent after the third day and informed them of
this disturbing odor. The realtor explained that
it was possible that an animal may have been
trapped in their garage which was below the living
room and died. They called exterminators to
inspect and remove an expected carcass but they
never found one. In fact, the odor disappeared the
day they got there and did not return for at least
a month. It came back intermittently for periods
as short as a few hours and as long as two days!
The family also was experiencing an "uneasy"
feeling which is something they had never felt
before, and at times felt like there was someone
or something in the basement. The couple has a
five-year-old son who is seldom afraid of anything
and he would not play downstairs in the playroom
with out somebody being with him. The strange
thing was that his mother and father both felt the
same thing and they each expressed their concern.

Investigation:
The
interview took place in the living room but we
made our way in the kitchen at which time the
remote control changed channels on its own. We
went back into the living room to investigate and
noticed that the controller was on top of the TV
and not on the floor ruling out any possible way
for someone to have accidentally stepped on it. We
shot several pictures, but did not come up with
anything at that particular moment. Another time
we were discussing things in the living room when
the channels changed again, and this time it
happened right in front of us and the controller
was still on top of the TV! There was another
incident where Orlando was taking pictures in the
master bedroom in total darkness when he heard an
electrical discharge from the corner of the room.
He quickly began to shoot with his camera and then
turned the lights on to investigate. Orlando was
expecting to find an electrical outlet
malfunctioning but there were no outlets and
nothing seemed to warrant the discharge that he
heard. After downloading the exposures we did not
find any conclusive evidence of anything which had
just taken place.

Findings & Opinions:
After
speaking with the couple and visiting their home,
we as a group think there is something paranormal
going on, but the only evidence we have are 9
digital photographs. We did not encounter any foul
odors or any abnormal Electro Magnetic Field
readings and did not experience any psychic cold
spots. The video and audio sources all came up
with nothing conclusive. We tried to reach the
homeowners about three weeks later, but haven't
heard from them since.
