Updated 04-04-2011 - This section was created specifically for EVP's. EVP or Electronic Voice Phenomenon are disembodied voices captured by a recording device such as cassette recorder, video or camcorder that is not heard by the human ear at the time of the recording. The EVP on this page have been obtained by CPRS members using audio cassette recorders, or were discovered on video sound tracks from camcorders used during investigations. The recordings were then "cleaned" (filtered for noise reduction) and changed into both .WAV and .MP3 formats. The .MP3 format of the file is ideal for minimizing download time by compressing the file into a smaller byte size file (a little quality may be lost, but over all the result is very good). EVP is a fascinating phenomena and it remains a mystery as to how or why they appear on tape but is not heard by the human ear until play back. Many hours of reviewing evidence is needed to find this phenomena and CPRS is committed to our clients to devoting out time and efforts to review the evidence we obtain on every investigation.

October 23, 1999 - CPRS performed an investigation at Gunntown Cemetery in Naugatuck CT one week before Halloween of 1999. We were able to capture many psychical photographs in both digital and 35 mm format, but the most shocking was the EVP which appeared on our audio cassette while we observed the cemetery. We placed the audio recorder in the far corner of the cemetery and we addressed the spirits to use the device to communicate with us if they wished. We continued to investigate the cemetery far away from the recorder and when we analyzed the tape, we were surprised at the voice we captured of a man saying "go..(3-4 second pause)...GO!" We are ABSOLUTELY certain that the voice was not produced by any of our investigators and the tape was brand new from a sealed container. (please be advised of copyright laws). November 16, 2007 - CPRS conducted an investigation in Branford CT at a residential area. During the investigation, Gary "The Psychic" was channeling several spirits that dwelled the property. We recorded the entire event with a Camcorder and Micro-cassette recorder. When we played back the Micro-cassette we discovered that we recorded the sound of a cat meowing. The funny part if that the home owner did not own a cat and never did. This is one of the rare times when the spirit of a cat is recorded instead of something human. July 5, 2008 - During an interview for a possible investigation at a haunted home in Meriden, we were talking with the home owner, and her sister, upstairs on the second floor. They were explaining to us the things that they were experiencing and how a Priest was called in the bless the house. During the clip, you will hear Joe ask the women if any activity occurred while the Priest was there. You will then hear both females answer "no", followed by a third female voice (or child) whisper "no". There was nobody else in that room, or the house, except Joe, Orlando, the home owner, and her sister. This voice cannot be explained as to how it was picked up by our recording device. The micro-cassette used to record this EVP was a brand new tape with no previous recordings. The voice sounds like it is right on top of the recording device which adds to the mystery. July 11, 2008 - During an investigation at a residence in Meriden CT, CPRS investigator Yvonne Burke caught this EVP on her digital recorder. The only people in the room at the time of the recording were Yvonne and fellow investigator Audrey Elder. The voice you will hear is that of a woman and possibly another woman or child answering her. We believe that the voice in this EVP is speaking in a different language, and can quite possibly be older Native American. CPRS is still analyzing this recording but would like your help. August 28, 2008 - During an investigation at Hell Hollow Rd. that was being filmed for a Fearnet.com special called "Streets of Fear", CPRS was able to catch this fascinating EVP. At the time of the recording, Gary Lynch had just completed a channeling session of a few spirits that he contacted when the film crew of fearnet.com experienced technical difficulties when their camera went dead. At the same time, a dark shadow was spotted by Audrey Elder crossing the road that prompted the filming crew along with CPRS investigators chasing the shadow figure. Also of note was that Joe Franke's Hi8 Camcorder shut off at least 7 times during the filming of Gary's channeling session. Joe's camera never experienced any malfunctions in the past, and it hasn't ever since this investigation. What ever was there did not want to be recorded or filmed, except for this one chilling EVP. Before Gary started channeling he said that he sensed there was a small shack that was a make-shift for something else but he couldn't identify for sure what it was. He said he saw "fixtures" or symbolic objects inside of the shack and he didn't know why. After reviewing our micro-cassette recorder we captured this amazing EVP of a man with a clear message. In the begriming of the audio you will hear Orlando and Gary discussing what happened in the last few seconds and then at about 4 seconds into the clip you will hear the man softly say "can you hear?". At about 6 seconds into the clip he then says "house of prayer"...at the 12 second mark he says much louder "HELP US". After analyzing the circumstances sounding the time that this EVP was captured we strongly feel that this entity was validating Gary's vision of the shack by calling it "House of Prayer". In the clip, Joe asks Gary "do you feel that I need to come back and confront this entity?", Gary responds "no"...but then there is a third male's voice that responds "no". Sept. 8, 2008 - This EVP was captured at an investigation on Beelzebub Rd. performed by CPRS as part of the featured show "Streets of Fear" back in October of 2008. The show appeared on Fearnet.com website, as well as Comcast On-demand for about the whole month of November. In the clip, you'll hear Gary Lynch laughing as he channels the spirit of a sinister entity. Joe Franke accuses the entity of lying and then there is a sigh from the entity. February 13, 2009 - This next EVP was caught by Leo Calonico while on an investigation in Groton CT. seconds before this EVP was captured, Orlando Ferrante was calling out to the spirits, or entities, and was greeting them with a loud "Hello". NEW - May, 2009 - during an investigation in Westport CT, CPRS member, Jessica Ouellette, capture this remarkable EVP of what sounds like a water faucet turning on and off. It was recorded with a digital audio recorder that was left upstairs in a bedroom where most of the activity in the house was reported. There was nobody upstairs at the time of this recording. In the background, you can hear CPRS investigators, on the first floor, conducting their investigation. The other fascinating thing is that in the last 3 seconds of this clip, you can hear what sounds like a child saying "...mom" or "...mommy". These noises were exactly what the homeowner reported, and we are glad that we could validate this claim to the homeowner with this EVP. Email us your thoughts. NEW - May, 2009 - this EVP was captured by Orlando Ferrante on an investigation at a home in Westport CT during an instigation this past May of 2009. Orlando captured this EVP with his recording device upstairs on the second floor where most of the activity had been reported. During the recording, Gary (psychic) was giving a reading on the house and the room specifically to the homeowner. Orlando felt compelled to walk into the adjacent room with his recording device and captured what sounds like a person “panting” or hyperventilating. The weird part of all this is that before this EVP was captured, both Orlando and the psychic had felt a heaviness on their chest, or a sense of anxiety. NEW - June, 2009 - very good EVP captured by Jessica Ouellette at an investigation that CPRS conducted at a home in Westport CT. Jessica's recording device was left in a bedroom upstairs while the rest of CPRS conducted their investigation on the first floor. What you are about to hear is remarkable in the sense that nobody on the first floor could hear all the noise that jessica’s recording device caught on the second floor. We figure that based on where CPRS investigators were sitting (in the kitchen), and where the recording device was placed, the noises would have been right above the investigators and nobody heard a thing! When you hear this clip you’ll hear at the very beginning what sounds like a woman in high heels walking on hardwood floors opening and slamming drawers and closet doors. NEW - July, 2009 - "Piano Sounds" - this fascinating EVP was captured by Orlando Ferrante at an investigation in Westport CT. This was the third visit to that home where it had been reported to be the center of paranormal disturbances. On this visit, Orlando was accompanied by a second psychic who had no prior knowledge of the case at hand, and was not told where she was going that evening. Upon entering the home, the psychic sensed the presence of an older woman sitting on the porch “waiting for us”. The psychic described the woman to the homeowner who was then shocked. The homeowner showed the psychic a photograph with three people and the psychic identified the old woman as the homeowner’s Grandmother. Upon observing the first floor it was noted that there was an older piano sitting in the family room area. The psychic felt very strong ties with this piano and the homeowner’s mother who passed away. In the clip, everyone had converged upstairs on the second floor (there were only four people in the house at the time). The psychic was picking up on a male entity that had passed away in a farming accident on the land not too far from where the house currently stood. You can hear the psychic answering questions by the homeowner when at 0:12 seconds into the clip the sounds of the piano playing downstairs can be heard (3 notes). We all heard the sound and there was nobody downstairs! Additional piano sounds were also heard at 0:28-0:29 seconds into the clip. | NEW - July, 2009 - "...mom" - This remarkable EVP was caught by Orlando Ferrante in Westport CT during a third visit to the home. Orlando had brought along a second psychic to the home that did not have any prior knowledge of the case or where she was going that night. There were only four people in the home at the time, the homeowner’s son was not there at the time of this recording and there were no animals as well. We were all on the first floor discussing the connection of an existing piano and the sounds we heard upstairs when Orlando and the homeowner’s friend heard a strange inaudible sound. They were the only ones who heard it as the homeowner and the psychic were engaged in a deep conversation. Luckily, our digital recorder also heard the sound and when we played the recording back we were shocked at what we all heard! At about 0:03-0:04 seconds into the clip you will hear what sounds like a small child saying “…mmmommm”. The child seems ill, or very tired. I must note here that upon our first visit to the home Orlando picked up on a defining moment in the house’s history. He said that he felt that the setting was in the early 1800’s and that there was a child who was very sick on the second floor, and bed ridden.
